2018 Flounder Pounder Tournament hooked $85,000 for JSA......
This year's 9th annual Flounder Pounder Tournament was a great success, both for Fisherman, and for the Jacksonville School for Autism.
The fishing started early with the first weigh-ins coming in at 2 pm. Ted Clayman was the overall winner of the Big Fish prize, bringing in a single Flounder at 8.48 lbs. Ryan Vogt took the 3 fish aggregate prize with 15.43 lbs to show for his fishing efforts. The top Jr. Angler award went to Micah Bush this year with a Flounder at 2.67 lbs.
Much Fun was had by everyone who attended the event. There was plenty of food and entertainment to go around, and an overall incredible atmosphere on a great sunny day.
Chip's desire to have one of the best fishing tournaments in Jacksonville is evidenced by the support of the local community.
Angie's Sub, a local favorite sandwich shop showed their appreciation to Chip Davis.
Almost 700 anglers participated in 173 registered boats for the tournament, making it a local fisherman's favorite too.
Next years tournament will shape up to be bigger and better than before with the goals set out by it's founder.
And by the way, since I had started this post, the actual check given to the JSA turned out to be $95,000.
