Singleton's Seafood Shack is the creation of many years of family and fishing.......

Captain Ray's love of fishing, and the fastest shrimp boat on the water, started the party that is now

Singleton's Seafood Shack.

According to Sally, it all really started back in 1969,
after moving the house from Palmer St. to where the restaurant now stands. Ray Singleton had spent his life shrimping and building boats, and apparently was pretty good at both. His new wife Anne Wilson, and Sally's step mom "Ms. Anne" as everyone called her, had decided to sell food while people waited for the party boat "Sally Ruth".

The Johnny Ray, and the Sally Ruth shrimping boats where part of the Mayport shrimping culture for many years. Today you can listen to live music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Enjoy weekly dinner specials.
And they will cook your catch for $4/pound.

A former yacht with twin diesel engines, Capt. Ray had modified into a shrimp boat (now party boat) after salvaging it for $12,000, was the fastest shrimping boat on the water. As the number of people joining the boat for parties grew, Ms. Anne decided that if they could have crab cakes up north where she was from, why not have shrimp cakes down here.

After adding shrimp to burgers, "shrimp cakes", and creating large shrimp and fish baskets that soon became very popular with the local Navy presence, Singleton's Seafood Shack was born.

You can always catch Sally and her beautiful smile as she helps Singleton's Seafood Shack show you what Mayport is all about.
